Patrick, who has been visually and musically creative from his youth, recieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an MBA at Mississippi State University. Upon graduation, Patrick was befriended by a local Pastor who led him to an adult acceptance of Jesus through a genuine relationship and a mutual interest in guitar.
Soon after purchasing his first guitar since childhood, Patrick began writing music. Lyrically, a common thread of spiritual significance emerged. After moving to Hattiesburg, Patrick become a member of Grace Temple Church and soon joined the Music Ministry. Patrick recalls the frightening journey as he had never played with other musicians or in a live setting. Passion trumped fear as he is still a part of the team in the same church more than 25 years later.
Patrick met Scarlet and the two married. "I knew that God had brought us together as I recognized the qualities she possessed that I wasn't smart enough to seek in a partner. She makes me a better person!" states Patrick as he describes their relationship. Patrick and Scarlet have been married for 22 years and have two children, Dylan and Roman.
Thankful for the countless relationships and mentors who have been key disciplers, Patrick now channels his creative characteristics to share a story of the indescribable love of God for each of us. "My prayer has always been that God will say something through my work that words can't say, bringing others to the full knowledge and embrace of our savior, Jesus.
"I produced this piece during my season of searching. If you notice, the origional signature is upside down. That's because when I was rendering the piece, the large hands represented the viewer and the multiple hands were of those who offered support. Upon completion, and during a time of reflection, I realized that something wasn't right. As I continued to gaze at the image, I slowly began to turn it upside down, and suddenly it all came to light! The image, as well as my perspective, was completely wrong. God is provider."
Acts 17:6
Those who have turned the world upside down have come here too.
"This is a representation of an image from a mid century publication. I found the cactus to be fascinating and an ideal subject for a lithograph. The abstracted elements brought to mind the conversation that Moses had with God at the burning bush. "
Exodus 3:14
God replied to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM sent me to you."
